RARE TRENCH ART SWORD! Has a very uniquely crafted stacked handle made of bakelite and ebony wood with an aluminum hilt. (Aluminum was considered precious material in the early 1900's) The blade is steel and sharp! I've had several military collectors at a couple of gun shows review it and their opinion is it was most likely from WWI and is a soldiers trench art. Every man said they had NEVER seen one like it before. (It could be World War II trench art because the estate I purchased it from had lots of WWII items, but the man also had a civil war sword too.)
The wood scabbard has flat brass wraps holding the wood sides together and a solid ring holder for a sash. The sword slides easily in and out. No dates or markings. It's old. Condition is used, sold as-is. There is some rust on the blade, a few cracks in the handle with small bits of the stacked handle sections awol. Lots of pictures so you can study the condition. Please ask questions.
The sword measures just over 25 inches long with 20 of that being the blade. Weighs over 2 lbs on it's own. Shipping is $12.00 to U.S. addresses. Not sure if I can send it to other countries. Please advise if interested.
International buyers may need to pay more to their country for postage handling, import, customs or duties. These fees are NOT included with your purchase. I will not falsify export documents to avoid these fees.
EXCELLENT CROSS COLLECTIBLE FOR BAKELITE, MILITARIA, AND SWORD COLLECTORS!
I have other items listed and will combine shipping where applicable.
